Arizona has been a permitless carry state since 2010. Anyone 21 or older who may legally have a firearm can carry it concealed or openly, with no license and no class. Under 21, carrying concealed is still an offense under A.R.S. 13-3102, so younger adults carry openly or keep the gun cased in a vehicle. The optional Concealed Weapons Permit is issued statewide by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, not by the county sheriff. Deer applications were accepted from June 2 to July 24, 2026, and archery-only deer tags are sold over the counter with unit harvest limits.

Sierra Vista sits in Unit 35A under the Huachuca Mountains, with general Coues whitetail hunts on October 23 to 29, November 6 to 12, November 27 to December 6 and December 11 to 31, 2026. Fort Huachuca inside the same unit runs its own separate hunts and its own permission rules.
